Dr Desi Ramoo
Desi immigrated from the UK to New Zealand with his family in 2008. His research background is theoretical physics with expertise in semiconductor lasers for the telecommunications industry and computational fluid dynamics studying the indoor air quality in New Zealand housing.
Recently Desi spent 4 years working for the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) where he designed and established the Research Technology and Innovation Practice. In that role he worked across MPI branches, Government Departments and Research Organisations to build teams that develop innovative solutions to help protect New Zealand’s environment. Desi wishes to use his knowledge and experience of Government and the research system to support the community of collaboration established by the Bioheritage National Science Challenge.
