On holiday in the Peruvian Amazon, Phil Lester spotted a gleaming black bullet ant, owner of the world’s most painful sting. “That was awesome,” he recalls fondly. His wife and two sons were less excited.
Where most people see pests, stings with wings or eight-legged terror, bug man Lester sees a world of wonder. He spoke to Stuff reporter Nikki Macdonald.
