Successes, challenges, and finding better ways.
Our team members have expertise in ecology, sociology, environmental politics, mātauranga and environmental restoration.
Our programme originates within the government-funded National Science Challenge “New Zealand’s Biological Heritage | Ngā Koiora Tuku Iho”. The Challenge partners include all of New Zealand’s Crown Research Institutes and universities. As part of the Whakahou (Restore) arm of the Challenge, our task is to create a resilient, thriving environment.
The ecosystem regeneration team is led by Dr Joanne Clapcott (Ngāti Porou, Cawthron Institute) and Dr Danielle Shanahan (Zealandia, Victoria University of Wellington)
